Configuring Direct Inward Dialing
(Mitel Integrated Configuration Wizard)

The outgoing DID number is the number that a user's outgoing calls present to the public network. It's also the number dialed from the public network to call the user. You need to program both since the terminating digits of the DID number are typically different than the user's directory number (DN).

Internally (inside MiVoice Business), the terminating digits of the incoming DID number are programmed by the wizard to speed call the user's DN. In the outgoing direction, MiVoice Business is programmed to substitute the DN for the outgoing DID number.

To configure DID numbers:

  1. For each user, enter an incoming and outgoing DID number.

The incoming number is the system speed call used to store the user's DN—for example, 22999. The outgoing number is all the digits dialed to call the user from the public network—for example, 6135922999.

To generate the numbers using Autofill:

  1. Click Next to continue.

You can edit the text in the Name fields. Changes made are automatically reflected on other pages in the wizard.

To sort the list, click the column header.

For each incoming/outgoing DID number, the wizard applies the following programming:

Associated Directory Numbers form

DN = [user's directory number]

Associated Type = CPN Substitution

Associated Number = [outgoing DID number]

System Speed Calls form

Speed Call Number = [incoming DID number]

Actual Number = [user's directory number]

Overrides Toll Control = No

Type = S/C (or Int if on a clustered system)
